In either case, the mind renders us incapable of thinking logically. Under such situations, look for a quiet place and observe your breath. (Ana Pana and Sati). But the mind is just out of control. Personal thoughts, events that happened yesterday or the book/ articles we were reading the other day. thoughts about kith and kin, all are lined up to cross our minds. Even thoughts from across the globe, the universe, sun, moon and stars, spirituality keeps appearing. Regular practice of meditation shows that thoughts come and go. It's fine if we are not caught up with them. Be A Meditator- Vibrate good energy into other's soul

 


Vibrate good energy! Everything in the universe is made up of energy vibrating at different frequencies. This includes our thoughts and emotions. Our vibrations can be thought of as the state of our emotions. Emotions are produced by our thoughts. Though thoughts are also shaped by our emotions, we have more control over our thoughts. We can have positive, healing, calming thoughts. This often happens automatically in meditation. 

We can also mindfully examine our thoughts. Is this thought healing the world or harming it? Is this thought creating anger in me or calmness? If a thought is creating anger, it need not be rejected. Instead, we can examine it deeply. Perhaps there is an injustice in our lives that is making us angry. Perhaps because an emotional need is not met, it is translating into anger. When we become aware of the deeper cause of our negative emotions, we can transform them by working deeply on the cause and addressing it in a proper way. 

Meditation will improve our capability to examine our thoughts and emotions deeply and improve our lives.

Be A Meditator- When it seems as though our thoughts are not dissipating


Your becoming aware is actually doing the work. Think of a thought as firewood, and awareness as fire. The firewood has a certain amount of strength in it. It has a burning capacity. It will burn out sooner or later. You just have to keep the fire burning by making your intention stronger to be aware.

If the fire (awareness) is strong, the wood will burn faster, if the wood is dry (like thoughts are not charged with emotions or trauma), the wood will burn faster. Here, fire being strong is a metaphor for your awareness. Similarly, if the thought is light or does not contain an emotional charge or trauma, it burns away faster, but if a thought has weight or is emotionally charged or related to some repeated trauma, it will hold on for longer. You may not be able to overcome it in one session or even in multiple sessions. This does not mean that the fire is not burning or that the wood is not burning away. It is just a different kind of wood than you expected it to be.
When you start to question why the thought has not yet gone. It is like a guest making his way out of the door, and if you ask them ... Do you have something on your mind, they turn around and discuss it for another hour. It is better to focus on your awareness. Allow the thought time to dissipate. Be humble about what you can expect in 5 months. It is Okay if you have not yet experienced silence. You are making progress and practising regularly, and that is what matters.
