 When we begin our meditational journey, we begin to uncover all the disharmonies within ourselves. But as we continue and try to understand the causes of disharmony deeply, not giving in, not blaming, not giving into resignation, but focusing intensely on understanding, we begin to notice how the disharmonies are converting into harmony. Be A Meditator- My breath fills me with awareness

 

 When we enter the house we live in and walk across to our favourite corner. We pass by many things. Some people notice them, whereas for others, it just runs like a moving screen. The little boy in the infographic says, "My breath fills me with the awareness of every other shade that exists between black and white". When we observe our breath, we become aware of the things we come across or pass by. Meditation Sees Us Through all the tests


 Some people nurture a feeling of disappointment because their capacity to help others remains unused. "I have so much strength that I can move a lorry, ( I know I don't have to move a lorry).   However, why isn't anyone asking for my help"? or, " I am a sincere and dedicated worker, this is my truth". But why is it not being recognised by others?
 I may have created a reservoir of water over many years, but if I don't let it flow. It will overflow and spill, and all the effort will go waste. In the same way, all the knowledge we have accumulated has to pass through a test.
Our Truth, Belief, Strength, and Knowledge must pass through many tough tests. ( aag ke Dariya se ho ker guzarna parta Hai), before it can be acknowledged. Then what do we do to deal with this disappointment? Yes, one way is meditation.
                                            Meditation sees us through all these tests.                                                                                                                           Keep meditating.

How can we get detached from the tricks of the mind?  We can start with awareness.  Awareness of every part of our body culminates in quietening of the mind. The body starts relaxing, and we are no longer attached to the mind. Then we may see some miracles of awareness. That is, without saying anything, without doing anything, it simply dissolves all that is negative in us into all that is beautiful. Embrace Emptiness with Meditation

 



Once a large project or undertaking is over, it is natural to feel empty. It may also occur after a major goal has been achieved, a long journey, a sudden reduction in responsibilities upon retirement or when a child leaves for college. In such times, it is natural to feel empty, and we generally fill this emptiness by turning to food, television, or other substitutes which do not fill the emptiness.              

Under such circumstances, it is best to start meditating. The feeling of emptiness will soon pass. Leaving us in the emotional space to pick up a more wholesome next step. Meditation is a long-term investment in emotional stability.  Think of a drive-through of an unknown terrain. We always manage to steer clear of whatever comes our way. In the present times, even the GPS is not able to tell if there is any ditch on the road or if the road is blocked, maybe because of some repair work. At such junctures, we are unable to drive on. We have to just wait and be patient and do the needful. In the same way, we should accept this moment as it is. Meditate to Shed Ego


  
 The first question that comes to our minds is, do I have an ego? Maybe, if we get angry at loved ones, if we feel the need to prove that I am right, if there is a feeling of insecurity or a sense of jealousy. Ego hides behind the opinion that appears genuine. 
Well, there is no harm in having some ego. The problem arises when that self-image is negative, inaccurate or overly positive. That's when the need to shed ego arises. Once we start shedding our ego, self-realisation starts setting in. Which gives immense peace and happiness.

 Swami Veda Bharti was born on 24 Mar 1933 in Dehradun. His original name was Usharbudh Arya. He was a spiritual teacher of the Himalayan Tradition of Yoga. He is said to have taught the Patanjali's yoga sutras for the first time at the age of nine, and the Vedas from the age of eleven. Before he became the closest student of his Guru Rama in 1968, he worked as a Sanskrit professor in the USA for many years. He continued his guru's tradition and travelled all over the world. As a spiritual director, he leads The Sadhana Mandir Trust in Rishikesh.   Have you seen some children picking up things and throwing them, or tearing pages of new books, or writing on the completed homework of their siblings?. It's a common sight in some of the houses.
Why do children do this? The child does not know what he is supposed to do. His mind is still not channelled.  The same thing happens with elders if their minds are ungoverned. They end up doing or saying weird things. Meditation can help in focusing and channelling your thinking process.
