Be A meditator- Mountains are like Shiva In the state of deep Meditation


      We have heard a story of Samundra Manthan ( charming of the sea) in which Amrit (nectar) and vish ( poison) were generated. If the formation of vish was not contained, then it would have destroyed everything around it. However, no one wanted to drink vish. Only Shiv courageous of all, drank the vish, but he never let the vish go down his neck ( like today's coronavirus, which we should not let go down below our neck). But by drinking vish, a lot of heat was generated in Shiv's body. That is why a lot of water and milk are poured on Shiv's head. For healing purposes, he used natural herbs like belpatra, dhatura, caster, and bhang. On Mahashivratri, we remind ourselves of the medicinal use of herbs and meditation. Meditation heals us mentally. Shiv would go into deep meditation.  While discussing meditation, we always talk about being aware of the present moment, no future, no past. But in deep meditation, one tends to lose awareness ( Samadhi). We forget where we are sitting, how long we have been sitting, and what were thinking. The body becomes totally relaxed, and even breathing may slow down. These are physical aspects of deep meditation, but within ourselves, an entirely new feeling of tremendous love starts arising as a totally unknown feeling. For some people who have been meditating for a long time, such a unique feeling may appear.  When we decide to take a spiritual path. The first question which crosses our mind is which technique to learn or which guru to follow. To tread on the path of spiritual realisation, first, we need to work on self-realisation. What is self-realisation? Self-realisation is knowing all parts of the body, mind and soul that we are now in possession of. To achieve this, there is no single path. However, all paths lead to connecting with the soul, a spiritual realisation. One can follow any path to self-realisation. Be A Meditator- Meditation is when we continue to expose ourselves to ourselves.

 



 Often, people ask, Is meditation just observing our breath? There are many types of meditation. But the underlying fact in each one of them is self-realisation, or knowing ourselves. " Knowing yourself! How do I do that?" One unique way is to go to the mirror and start describing ourselves. Are the descriptions positive or negative? These positive or negative thoughts define how we see ourselves. Knowing ourselves is an essential step in achieving happiness and peace. To learn about our true selves and identify our qualities, a daily reflection can help us cultivate a deeper understanding of our identity.                                   Every individual is divine and strong in their real nature. What weakens us is our habits, desires, and thoughts, but not ourselves. Self-realisation is only the removal of all camouflage. Regular meditation and reflection on ourselves will remove all camouflage, and the real self will appear and start shining.                                                                                 Keep Meditating

Be A Meditator-Sow seeds of meditation


  I remember, way back in the seventies, sometimes during the rains, we got slightly brown colour water from the tap. In those days, there were no water purifiers or RO in use. Mostly, people boiled water and left it overnight for the mud to settle down. Then one day someone told me that if I stir alum four or five times after boiling the water, the mud will settle down faster. It did happen when I tried it. Today, when I look back and think about that incident. Our minds also get filled up with various thoughts, worrying about the future, still clinging to past experiences, or when we are agitated, our minds get muddy. If we sow the seeds of meditation, it will act like an alum. Our minds will get clearer faster.
