The functioning of the mind is divided into four components. Manas ( sensory mind), Buddhi (inner witness), Chitta( memory), Ahamkara ( self-identity). As manas is calmed buddhi awakens. Buddhi calms mental agitation which is caused by the unconscious mind having a lot of distractions. Imagination is relaxed and restful concentration is established bringing ordinary awareness into the present moment. As meditation deepens, certain things are set aside in order to clear the way for restful concentration. Keep Meditating
