Mindful Walk is Meditation

 


Walking meditation! How can we meditate while walking?                                                                             A long time back I read somewhere, "If you are feeling anxious, stressed or depressed, just go for a walk." A walk did give me a lot of respite. By the time I returned from the walk my mood had changed and I was rejuvenated to start afresh. If a walk calmed me down, can I call it meditation?                                           This concept was given by spiritual leader Thich Nhat Hanh. During COVID-19 in the month of March 2020, people became restless and anxious, locked in their houses. A mindful walk gave them some respite. Walk as if nothing in the world could bother you. You have nowhere to go, no destination. Just be mindful of your surroundings. Appreciate the feel of the wind on your skin, the sound of the birds in the tree, the countless shades of green, the smell of mist and the taste of dust. this is walking meditation.                                                                                  Keep Meditating
